We understand how important your budget and timeframe is and work hard to overcome any obstacles to ensure there are no surprises along the way.

As a boutique builder we don't take on too many projects at once, we only take on a limited amount of custom homes or renovation projects at a time and as a result you will have our full attention from day one through to completion. Talented craftsmen make all the difference in the quality of your home and we pride ourselves in the exceptional results we are able to achieve. Contact us today, we would love to hear about your vision and provide a proposal on your next building project.

Relationship building is one of his key focuses and this extends from the client through to suppliers and trades.

Chris Simpkins

From an early stage, Chris loved building things. His first interaction with building was at the renowned Vancouver boat builder, Hourston Glascraft. Chris started building boats under the direction of Bill Hourston and his attention to detail and quality control meant that the boats he worked on were the pride of the fleet.

After leaving Hourston Glascraft, Chris decided to head up the mountain and pursue his passion for skiing. He forged his talent as a ski instructor in Whistler. This afforded Chris the experience to work in a coaching environment that would serve him well later as he built a company of his own (more of that in a second!)

His need for building eventually won over the skiing and he found himself scaling down the mountain where he picked up his hammer and nail bag and commenced working for a high-end builder in West Vancouver. It didn’t take long for Chris to evolve and he found himself going out on his own and created a framing carpentry company.

In 29 years, Chris has framed, constructed, managed, renovated and helped design many projects for influential clients on the North Shore and the Vancouver Westside. His relationship based approach and quality of work have meant that Chris has never advertised his services as his clients have always been referred or form part of his repeat business. With this company, Chris coached many sub trades and employees to evolve themselves and create better systems and improve the quality of work that was undertaken.

Chris’s attention to detail and commitment to his projects ensures that deficiencies are not part of his vocabulary. He sources and uses the finest materials and ensures quality control is present at every stage of the construction process. Chris has been known to instruct trades to replace work due to inferior execution… This is a rare occurrence as Chris’ Hawk Eye approach to project management catches these issues before they occur. Chris hand-picks sub trades and scrutinizes their past works to ensure that the quality of work always improves.

Chris’ passions tie perfectly with his business, construction, design and décor…. Topped with a little boating! This passion for boating steered Chris in a direction that few people are able to contemplate. He volunteered as a crewmember for the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 1 at West Vancouver. Not content with remaining a crewmember, Chris decided to take it to the next level and undertook hundreds of hours in intense training by the Canadian Coast Guard and Transport Canada. He became a Coxswain in 14 months of joining which remains the record for the quickest time a crewmember has obtained their Coxswain accreditation. He was appointed the Deputy Station leader at Station 1, attended over 150 taskings and has successfully logged thousands of hours over the past 10 years patrolling the waters saving lives and property.

All of these interconnect to create an individual that breathes and sleeps his passions and who strives to go above and beyond to be successful in everything he does.
